Mencia is mainly grown in Spain and Portugal. In these countries Mencia produces wines with aromas of strawberry, raspberry and some floral elements. As well, the Mencia grape is known for producing wines with the ability to take on many years in a cellar. The dark red wines made from are great on winter nights.
