The main production of wine derives from two magnificent estates on the hills around Neive: Serra Capelli and San Cristoforo, regarded as one of the most beautiful hills of the entire Barbaresco grape-growing region, offering a breathtaking panorama that stretches from the Langhe to the province of Asti.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was there, in the Frazione Serra Capelli, that Evaristo Filippino introduced his first vineyard in the early 1900’s, that was destined to evolve over time. During the 1950’s, his son, Domenico used his intuition and his father’s precious grapes to follow with his own production of delectable wines.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eToday, after the untimely death in 1997 of his father Domenico, Elio Filippino is the third generation of winemaker of the estate, continuing his family’s tradition of superior winemaking while maintaining the greatest respect for the environment. Elio argues that “true quality comes from the vineyard, which does its best to produce excellent quality grapes.” Pruning, harvesting and pressing is done strictly by hand on steep hills exceeding 350 meters above sea level.
