Viejo Isaias Juana Cabernet Franc is made from 100 percent Cabernet Franc.Cabernet Franc has an intense bright velvety red . In the nose this wine reveals a complex expression marked by fresh berries followed by hints of floral aromas. It also displays some smoke and vanilla from the oak barrels. It is rich and balanced in the mouth with an elegant tannic structure and long fresh fruit end.Vineyard information:Location: Perdriel, Lujn de Cuyo, on the highest area of the Mendoza river - Mendoza.Altitude: 950m above sea level.Soil: Stony, from Alluvial originsComing from our estate vineyards in Perdriel and Lujan de Cuyo.Aged in 50% French and 50% American Oak barrels for 12 months. The Viejo Isaias EstateThe owner and winemaker is Rodrigo Manuel Romero. 2004 was the first vintage for this winery. Total current production: 4,200 cases. The label represents both grandparents of the winemaker. The rose on the label signifies the first new rose of each season--every year his grandfather Isaias would watch for the first rose to give to his wife, Juana.

The Viejo Isaias VineyardThe grapes are sourced in Perdriel, Lujan de Cuyo and Upper river Mendoza region. Rocky, sandy soils located 950 meters above sea level, irrigated by flooding river waters coming from the Andes mountain range, make the perfect match for vine growing. They use purchased grapes and farm 11 hectares (27.17 acres) of their own vineyards of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, and will plant another 5 acres of Malbec in the summer of 2008. In 2009 they will plant a Syrah vineyard.
