Avennia Gravura Red Blend 2011 is made from 65% Cabernt sauvignon 29% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc
Gravura is our Bordeaux blend that emphasizes aharmony of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The name is a play on an artisan printing technique, and on the Bordeaux region of Graves, which features similar blends to this one. With more Merlot in the blend and the addition of Red Mountain fruit, this wine is designed to be more generous and voluptuous in style, while still remaining complex and balanced.
2011 Gravura: A dark, glass-staining wine, with aromas of black cherry, cassis, mocha and cigar box. The palate is round and plush with crème de cassis, raspberry, rich chocolate and minerals. A truly delicious food-friendly wine that will age nicely for another 5-8 years

Good news for the growing legion of admirers of this young winery—production of the Gravura has more than doubled in this vintage. It’s a classy, sophisticated wine with a clear target—the style of wine made in the Graves region of Bordeaux. Done with native ferment (no inoculation), the overall harmony of tart berry/cassis fruit, minerals, bright acidity and bourbon barrel highlights is exceptional. 92 Points Wine Enthusiast
