Product Description

Overview

Winery: Charles Smith K Vintners

K Vintners The Creator Red is made from  75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Syrah.

Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme in this dried plum, pencil lead, smoked meat, dark chocolate co-fermented knock out. Integrated multilayered and individual as can be. You almost have to take a step back with a ‘What the ??’ I’ll tell you what it is. It’s the Creator..

Review:

Red and black currants, blueberries, green tobacco, cedarwood, and new saddle leather notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon / Syrah The Creator Powerline Vineyard, a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Syrah. Almost opaque and ruby/purple-hued, it's medium to full-bodied and has a layered, elegant texture, sweet tannins, and a great finish. A wine that builds nicely with time in the glass, picking up more density and length, it has the fruit and balance to offer pleasure today yet the concentration and structure to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15-20 years, if you're so inclined.

Located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Walla Walla (Washington State), Charles Smith opened his first winery, K Vintners, in December of 2001. The first release, 1999 K Syrah from Walla Walla Valley, initiated the style of winemaking that Charles continues today: small lots of single vineyard Syrahs and field blends of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Tempranillo, and Viognier, all of which are hand-picked, fermented with naturally occurring yeasts and basket pressed.
