Grand Veneur Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge Vieilles Vignes 2010 is made from 50% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah. The vines are 50 to 100+ year old. They are planted on red clay soils covered with pebble stones.
Yield: 30 hl/ha
Aged for 18 months in oak barrels.

"Possessing compelling richness, the awesome, packed and stacked, inky purple-colored 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes possesses remarkable intensity of blackberry and blueberry fruit intertwined with camphor, lavender, licorice and truffle notes. Sensational richness and intensity make this one of the most concentrated, long-lived wines of the appellation."
- Wine Advocate (Robert Parker, issue#197, October 2011), 95-99 pts

"Ripe and packed, but well-focused, with a broad beam of linzer torte and boysenberry fruit backed by graphite, violet and pastis notes. Picks up plenty of muscle and toasted spice on the finish, showing lots of latent depth in reserve. Very solid. Best from 2014 through 2024. 250 cases made. –JM"
