Madrigal Family Petite Sirah 2010 comes from these vineyards:
74% Madrigal Estate Vineyard
23% Bob’s Vineyard (Barberis)
3% Saviez Estate Vineyard
APPEARANCE: The wine is clear, bright, purple / black ink in a glass, and the wine shows considerable concentration and viscosity.
NOSE: The nose is indicative of a powerful, young red wine. An initial impression of game, spice and slight reduction, gives way to a core of prevailing blueberry / blackberry fruit aromas.
PALATE: In the mouth the Petite Sirah shows as a compelling red wine in its youth. The initial sensation is more textural with tannin and astringency showing first, but quickly balanced out by an intense core of rich black fruit. The finish is persistent, and dominated by the structure of this wine.
NOTES: Fun, almost Rhone-like nose. Great for venison or cassoulet. Can be stored in the cellar for awhile and enjoy it with a big piece of red meat, or serve it to your friends that like to drink big wines young!
