Manoir du Carra Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau 2026 is made from 100% Gamay.
Domaine du Manoir du Carra sits in the village of Denicé, in the heart of the Beaujolais, where the property has passed from father to son since 1850. Today the fifth generation of the Sambardier family, Frédéric and Damien, farms around 34 hectares of old-vine Gamay spread across some fifty granite-soiled plots — vines that average 50 to 100 years of age, old even by Beaujolais standards.
The Villages bottling draws from the estate's better-sited hillside parcels, giving a Nouveau with a touch more depth and grip than a straight Beaujolais. Made by carbonic maceration and released the third Thursday of November, it shows juicy dark cherry and raspberry, a floral lift, and a round, supple finish. Serve it lightly chilled — a natural at the holiday table.
