Maurice Ecard Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2012 is made from 100% hand picked CHARDONNAY grapes.
The vines are situated within the boundaries of the attractive village of Savigny-les-Beaune in the Côte d’Or. The vines are 35 years of age on average.
The mainly clay soil is light and stony.
The wine's alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats after which the wine goes through its malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and is then aged for an average of 6 months.
The nose is filled with flowers, citrus fruit along with pear and apple. Medium bodied and elegantly rich and supple. An extended finish has hints of lemon and a touch of nuttiness.
Lightly chilled, it will accompany all fish and shellfish dishes which are not too highly spiced. Maurice Ecard Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay will also enhance all white meat dishes as well as making an excellent before dinner apéritif.
