Mordoree Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Reine des Bois 2013 is made from 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Syrah, 2.5% Vaccarese, 2.5% Counoise.

60 year-old vines
Aged in 50% oak barrels.
Deep ruby red color, red fruits aromas leading to leather, black truffles and coffee notes. Fat and concentrated on the palate, with liquorice and dark fruit flavors.
Pairs well with game and red meats, cheeses.

Mostly Grenache (there’s a fair chunk of Mourvedre and Syrah) that’s raised in a combination of stainless steel and barrels, it offers tons of graphite and crushed rock to go with background blackberry, leather and pepper. "The 2013 Cuvée de la Reine des Bois instantly opens with aromas of ripe black raspberries and dark plums, which are woven together with smoke, floral, pepper and a meaty character. This continues to impress on the palate with its rich velvety texture which is cut through by a lovely layer of underlying acidity providing a sense of freshness as it heads into the long finish. This can be approached early, but this Cuvée will also continue to develop with some additional bottle age. (Best 2016-2025) - J.D."
