Mordoree Lirac Rouge Dame Rousse 2013 is made from 50% Grenache, 50% Syrah

Color: Deep Red
Nose : Red fruits (raspberry, black-current) and flowers (violet).
Palate : Full, rich and ample, long finish, nice concentration.
Aging potential : 7 to 9 years

Surface : 22 Ha. Yield : 40 Hl./Ha. Vineyard age : 40 years Terroir : Clay / chalk, clay / limestone and sandy with pebble stones. Harvest : by hand Vinification : 100% destemmed , long 30 days maceration with a maximum of 34°C temperature

Pairs well with red meats, grilled meats, game and cheeses.

Review:

A fabulous 2013 Lirac La Dame Rousse knocks it out of the park with its raspberry jam, blackberry, licorice, pepper and crushed-flower scented bouquet. Made from a blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah and aged all in stainless steel, it has medium to full-bodied richness, plenty of mid-palate and a fruit-filled finish. It will represent a superb value and should drink nicely for 3-5 years.

I’ve yet to see these guys put a foot wrong, and regardless of the vintage, they’re able to make superb wines. In addition to their terrific Châteauneuf du Papes, they continue to raise the quality of their Lirac and Côtes du Rhône releases. Also, while these all have the ability to drink nicely on release, they age beautifully. -Wine Advocate 90-92 Points
